I enjoy your posts and feel like I learn a lot from them. I have a request - could you please post a transcript of your podcasts as well? I think current transcription software is pretty good, so it shouldn't require much effort.

Hi Peter, there should be a transcript available on the substack version.

Unless there’s some technical reason like substack hating links, the proverbial Link In The Show Notes to come back alive might be a good idea. It would have reduced a tiny bit of friction that had (until today) prevented me from donating. Minor but why have any? If I google do I get legit link or scam impersonator, etc.

Thanks. Just came back from google/wikipedia rabbit hole of some .com address vs what you posted. Maybe both are legit but seems something ripe for abuse so I was being cautious.

When ever the discussion of peace talks with Putin comes up, and Western voices start saying that Ukraine will need to make a deal, my imagination jumps to the idea of NATO offering membership to Ukraine, effective when an armistice is in place. I don’t see this as something that could happen in reality, just a thought experiment. But it seams that the only way have an armistice that is more that a period for Putin to rearm is to station a couple of NATO brigades and air wings inside of Ukraine.

Actually, Bill, there are a number of NATO states (primarily central/eastern Europe, who would like Ukraine in NATO asap. The real issue for now is that Washington DC does not

As a practical matter, the UAV war is an electromagnetic battlefield. The Association of Old Crows podcast discusses it a little, but hardly anyone else ever does. The US has weapons for that battle that are of course not being shared with Ukraine. Because of course not.
