Thank you both again for incisive comments.

I, too, am hoping fhat the death of Navalny will lift the blinders from those fools in the House to release aid to Ukraine

My sense of much of the recent mainstream reporting and opinion commentary in the US is that Ukraine is clearly losing the war. I find this so demoralizing, that the media is controlling the war narrative in a tendentious and biased way. The herd of public opinion usually follows the direction set by the official opiners, even in a "free society." (" Lemmings...there's the cliff we need to jump off!"). Thank you both for regularly providing the truthful counter narrative.

I’m curious as to your thoughts Phil on the loss of Russian warships in the context of your theory of war. I would imagine that ships are the most expensive and time-consuming military assets to replace. Do you think it’s feasible that Ukraine will continue to attrit Russian navy assets in the Black Sea to the point that they are effectively irrelevant?

Another informative episode from you both. Thank you.

Great episode, thanks to both.

I sense that you both have at least some optimism that range ATCAM and Taurus may be forthcoming? To sever the Kerch bridge. If the murder of that incredibly brave man Navalny has contributed to that then let that be added to his lengthy epitaph.

I also sense we are moving from ‘ass’ to ‘arse’ to ‘rear end’? Maybe try ‘lazy backsides’ next.

With the powerfully damaging yet unstated assumption that Ukraine simply isn't up to resisting the Russian might.

Okay a couple of very recent examples: 1) David Brooks on the PBS Newshour last night said (approximately) that it's clear Ukraine can't win even now that they've been given all the weapons systems they've asked for, 2) Ross Douthat's "The Best Case for Ukraine Aid" in today's NYT. "We are not giving Ukraine money...because we see a likely future in which Russia can be pushed back to the prewar lines of control. Instead, the best reason to continue sending aid is to make it easier to negotiate an armistice on term's favorable to Ukraine's survival and resilience...". The center right speaks.

What a joke. Yes, they were sent ATACMS...a full 20 of ‘em. The Taurus missiles, check. The fighter jets, check. All a year too late. Can you believe the war hasn’t already been won? I hate the arrogance of those who opine on everything from war to economics to politics to sociology, as if they have some godly wisdom on all topics known to mankind.

Brooks was recently caught opining about Americans perception of the economy on the basis of a $78 burger and fries bill. Of course it didn’t take long for people to figure out his bill was so expensive because of the volume of liquor consumed along with the burger...

And not even the long range ATACMs that they desperately needed.
