Are you sure? That the US would sweep the Russians away in three days is one of the most ridiculous claims I've heard about this horrible war. How are they doing against the might of the (checks notes) Yemenis at the moment? Does he know what the current mission availability rates of the F-35 are? Was he not concerned by the Israeli's inability to do any great harm to the (much less well defended) Iranians with NATO's wunderwaffen 'strike fighters'? He is either a MIC shill, a blithering idiot or both.

A great conversation! - the informal but insightful back and forth was special. Your views were aligned but also often complemented each other's. My bottom line take away: NOW is the time for us all to fight, however each of us can best do that, for what is in peril - American democracy. Together we can prevail.

Appreciate that David--it did seem to flow naturally as we were giving it. Your bottom line is exactly right!

You guys have a nice vibe together. My only hesitation in suggesting you make it a regular thing (monthly or so?) is that you already perhaps have an overload of regular things!

Excellent podcast Phillips. Thanks for introducing your subscribers to Adam Kinzinger. Of course, I knew of Adam and followed him on Twitter but I had never heard him on a podcast. I feel like I know him much better now. I’m glad you two are allies. I would look forward to future conversations.

Im really glad that I was able to introduce AK to those in Europe and around the world who might not have known him. They need to know about some Republicans who maintained their integrity!

It did, and you are both such personable, expressive people that the podcast didn't feel like two talking heads going yada yada yada.

I just saw a video of one analysis of the Daily Mirror leak on the negotiations in process, here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7MYHb3fAUg. The author's statement "Leaked Peace Plan: A Complete DISASTER for Ukraine!” is an understatement. If this is any was a final version(s), then Ukraine should just surrender now.

I should add for the sake of “fairness", the piece was from the Daily Mirror and its source could just as well be(?) or sent as a a trial balloon by Trump admin. itself.

Sobering. The U.S....and Europe...are in for hard times. I think Adam is correct in his assessment that Americans (not all!) want to "touch the stove". There has always been a significant number of Americans who want an authoritarian government. That means they don't have to think for themselves and are content to be told what to do. He's also right about the lack of Democratic foresight, in my opinion. In short, there is so much to take away from this conversation that it's difficult to cover it all in a short space. More of this please.

This is great stuff, thanks for doing it. Adam Kinzinger is a sane and sensible man of the centre-right. He and Liz Cheney and a few others (now outliers) might be a saving remnant for the Republican Party, but it won't be anytime soon and maybe never after MAGA destroyed it. Nonetheless, it is good to hear his insider views that don't come from the defeated Democrats. The interactions were very good listening. Look forward to more of this.

Excellent discussion, Phillips. I'd heard good things about AK before but great to hear some rational discussion on where both the US and Ukraine are at present. I liked the discussion format as it drew out some nuances or details that you might miss in writing. As an aside it has struck me before and reinforced in the video that ex-military people like Adam or Ben Hodges care much more for democracy and its principles than our politicians - this seems to be the case both sides of the pond. Thanks again to both you and Adam.

Fascinating discussion. I do wonder about the strange Democrat passivity over Trump and Musk's trashing of the law. It is very weird.

Hey, how about a follow up on Israel-Gaza, gold-plated pagers, and all the Dems who decided not to vote for Harris because of that conflict?

About the Europeans, back before the two world wars, they were anything but united. They ran on rivalry with each other. They were never accustomed to thinking of themselves as a cooperating unit. The EU has helped to change that. This is the next challenge - can they defend their own collective identity from destruction? (I'm American living out on the edge here in western Co. Clare, so I'm concerned.)

Only got around to listening to this now. Depressing? Yes. But I want to hear realism. If I wanted undue stupid optimism, I'd have joined MAGA a long time ago. Keep it up both of you.

On the technical side: I find the video here to work not that well (yet). Audio only would have been fine for me as well.
