With yesterday’s vote by the Hungarian Parliament to approve Sweden’s membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Europe has united in a US-led security pact that would have made US president’s as different as Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan, green with envy. This is exactly why Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will be doing everything possible to make sure this triumph turns to failure as soon as possible.
