Hello All,

The attack yesterday on Ukraine’s power system, the largest so far by Russia, has once again led to the re-emphasis of the administration’s policy against allowing Ukraine to make deep ranged attacks (against military facilities) into Russia. However, as a Ukrainian army now sits on Russian soil—it has revealed that their is one final red-line that the US is terrified about crossing. The only problem with that final red-line is that it is internally contradictory and has placed Ukraine in a terrible catch-22. I thought I would outline how the last 24 hours shows that.

The Attack Yesterday

Yesterday once again highlighted the extraordinary bind in which US policy has placed Ukraine. The Russians, who spent a while building up stocks, launched the largest strategic air attack so far on Ukraine, with a remarkable 236 different missiles and large UAVs.
