Ukraine's FP-5 "Flamingo" Missile
This Looks Like The Missing Link For A Sustained Ukrainian Strategic Air Campaign
Hi All,
Flamingos should soon be arriving in large flocks—one might even say “mass”. Its hard to say exactly when, and it wont be for weeks/months. But perhaps as early as the late Autumn, Ukraine should have access to the kind of weapon (and in rising numbers) that they have always needed (but been denied by its partners) to help launch a sustained and effective strategic air campaign.

What is the FP-5 “Flamingo” Missile? While it looks to be a Ukrainian designed and home produced heavy cruise missile with a very long range and an substantial payload. In other words it can, if it proves to be accurate and reliable, be used to destroy Russian military/industrial targets for up to 3000 kilometres (almost 2000 miles) from launch point. We know a great of this because the Ukrainians themselves have started talking more and more about the FP-5 in just the last day or so.
First off what are its exact technical details (or at least what are the Ukrainians telling us that it can do)? Lets start with them, as they will tell you a graet about why they could be so important. Here are the details as released by the Ukrainians.
Range: 3,000 kilometers (1,864 miles)
Payload: up to 1,150 kilograms (2,535 pounds)
Accuracy: within 14 meters (45 feet) of its target
Speed: up to 950 km/h (590 mph)
Range
Zelensky, btw, confirmed the 3000 kilometre range when speaking to reporters yesterday.
