This was the time that Trump was really going to get tough. Really. He was angry, humiliated, and growing increasingly frustrated with Putin as the Russian leader consistently refused to take Trump’s offers to negotiate peace seriously. Every time Trump would offer his good graces to settle the Russo-Ukraine War (according to Trump), Putin would “talk nice” and be oh so affirming on the phone, but then the Russian dictator would turn around and bomb the shit out of Ukrainian cities. It was all so humiliating.

And Trump was so angry at this he was going to act—to show Vlad who his is daddy and hammer the Russians every which way from Sunday.

Well, it turns out that Trump was so angry at Putin, he protected the Russian leader from sanctions until September.
