The Real Meaning of the"America First" Peace Plan
A Trump White House will be North Korea-lite, and Trump wants to abandon Ukraine
Hi All,
A great deal of attention has been given to a so-called “peace plan” for Ukraine and Russia that is being pushed by the America First Policy Institute, which is a Trump-adoring think tank. The peace-plan is nothing of the sort—though it is an oddly fascinating document in and of itself. As such I thought it would be worthwhile looking into it in some detail.
If you boil it down, the document reveals three things. The first is how the discussion of US foreign policy making has been debased by a decadent need to flatter Trump. There is no US national interest, no desire to work with US allies to strengthen their standing, no idea that helping Europe become more safe and secure while clipping the wings of a mass-murdering dictator is a good thing. There is only the desire to flatter and appeal to Trump.
Second it is a plan that, if it was actually followed, would be most likely to give Putin a significant breathing space to rebuild his forces and then come back to war. Overall, it shows the poverty of thinking when it comes to war and peace today. Its a plan for Russian victory—especially while Putin is alive.
Finally, what it reveals is that those close to Trump are more than aware that he is planning on abandoning Ukraine if he becomes president again. Its their attempt to construct a plan in the face of Trump’s obvious hostility towards Ukraine and desire to curry favor with Putin. Its a very worrying indication of what a Trump administration would do.
This is a Document to Curry Favor with Trump
