President Emanuel Macron dropped a bombshell during his latest press-conference. It was held two days ago after a conference in Paris of European leaders. The conference was called by Macron specifically to begin serious planning to aid Ukraine and push some European states (many don’t need pushing) to understand the critical nature of the situation. However, even the general seriousness of the moment did not prepare some people for Macron’s bombshell.
Macron was clearer than he has ever been that the outcome of the Russo-Ukraine war will determine the fate of Europe. After stating explicitly that Russia cannot be allowed to win the war, Macron was asked what that meant in practice. His response was that the deployment of western ground troops to Ukraine cannot be ruled out. The exact quote is below.
