Hello All,

Before I start the discussion of what a European nuclear deterrent might look like, I thought I would respond to some push-back I received from the first piece. In particular those who think somehow what we are seeing is not an argument for the supremacy of nuclear weapons as a tool of national power. I thought, in response, I might turn to how the non-nuclear movement is speaking about the war in Ukraine, to show actually how they are now, almost certainly unwittingly, baking in the supremacy of nuclear weapons-owning states into their world-view. I has reached the point that CND (The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament) is actually articulating a vision where having nuclear weapons gives a state immense geo-strategic advantage.

This can be seen in how CND have reacted to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
