A Deliberate Attack on a Children’s Hospital

The last few days have been relatively rage-filled/exasperated. The deliberate Russian attack on the Kyiv Children’s hospital with a KH-101 missile on the one hand set off the predictable chaff by pro-Russian voices. First it was a Ukrainian shoot down, or even a Ukrainian provocation. Then it might have been a misfire, etc, etc.

It was a deliberate Russian attack on a children’s hospital which fits exactly into Putin’s strategic playbook of using strategic airpower to break the Ukrainian will to fight. Thankfully some excellent photographs of the attack and analysis, including by Bellingcat has been done to show what happened.

And sadly, as the Russian Army continues to sputter in its 2024 offensive (despite all the earlier breathless claims to the opposite), these attacks will probably be ramped up.
